It is that long, and one look at how his children to confirm that it has been that long. Not that Mark or Jane look any older, of course. Mark feels his time with us is over, that his work is complete and that it is time to move on. As a Church we are gratefully for all that Mark and the family have done and wish them every blessing in there future lives. As a Church we now look forward to a time without a full time Minister, but the work of God through the Church will continue. It will not be until June 2006 that our new Minister the Rev Ian Fall joins us, but as shown on other pages much will be happening over the coming months.
Diamond Davenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16589522.post-1128287852289767402005-09-25T22:05:00.000+01:002005-10-07T23:09:29.556+01:00Harvest 2005
Today we celebrated our Harvest Festival with the Rushden Mission Brass Band playing at the Evening Service. Perhaps at some stage a potted history might be a good idea, but for now best to start where we are.

We start at an interesting and exiting time in the life of the church. The Rev Mark Powell feels that his work for God at The Mission is completed and that it is now time for him to move on. The next minister of the church has been found but he will not be able to join us until the middle of 2006 and so the church face a time without full time leadership.

This though is not to be a time of just hanging on and waiting for the new man to come. The church has a mission to carry on for God and this is what will happen over the coming months. The time that we spend without a full time minister will be as relevant a term in the life of the church as has been the years with the Rev Powell, or will be the times when the new minister arrives.

I hope that this development will be seen in these pages and that a new era in the church's web presence will reflect a new era in the life of Rushden Mission Church.
Diamond Davenoreply@blogger.com
